Toward the Sun
I feel like I’ve been on a roll lately, fitting in lots of portrait sessions and extending my reach in my networks here in Pittsburgh. With the weather imporoving and the sun coming back out I have felt super motivated to get out and shoot!
Maybe getting started like this at 23 also means waiting around for paid gigs to materialize, but if that’s the case I’m doing what I can to enjoy the ride. These last few weeks I’ve been trying to make more moves in terms of ‘career,’ which has been an exciting thing to be thinking about, but it does remind me of the unnervingly unpredictable path I’ve decided to walk down.
This changing of the seasons also reminds me of how much I need sunlight! I guess something about an endless drab sky of grey clouds and rainy weather can have an affect on one’s mood afterall.
Just like the title suggests, I’m moving towards the sun these days, shedding the cold layers and looking to the future for opportunity and ecitement. (It’s also the title of my song of the week by a little known prog rock band Druid, definitely worth checking out)
Below are some portraits I shot of Dillon Hvizdash in the East Liberty neighborhood of pittsburgh about a week ago. I had a lot of fun playing with the high winds and textured fabrics, I hope you all like!
Enjoy the sun, until next week!
